Replica Of John Wilkes Booth Gun Used To Assassinate President Lincoln
Above is a photo of the actual gun from the National Park Service. The
PI And Spy Museum has a replica. The weapon fired one .44 caliber round
ball and was a single shot Deringer made by Henry Deringer of Philadelphia.
It's about six inches in length and has about a 2 1/2 inch barrel. The
weight is about eight ounces. There is a small box in the butt of the
gun to store more rounds and supplies. The gun was originally found by
one William T. Kent on the floor on the state box at Ford's Theater. The
original weapon is on display today in the basement of Ford's Theater.
